Annabel sighed as she swung her feet that dangled off of a boulder near a large oak tree in the meadow. It has been a long time since she has been anywhere this beautiful. The clouds floated above her, casting shadows across the lush landscape. A small garden snake slithered up the tree that provided her shade. Snatching the snake off the bark, Annabel weaved it through her fingers. The snake hissed and bit her hand. Annabel released her silvery laugh and watched the shocked expression on the snake as it tried to figure out why his fangs broke on her skin.
Annabel threw the snake into the grass, much to the relief of the snake. She smelled something. In a millisecond, Annabel was perched on the branch of the tree, searching for the intruder wishing to destroy her peace. It was no one from her coven, she was positive. Not a human, either. She looked up to the sun. She’d have a few minutes of time in the shade. Taking advantage of her special gift, she disappeared from view and silently watched the vampire emerge.

Bella had been hunting near the house alone for once. It had been a long day, Rosalie and she had gotten into a fight about Nessie. It didn't get physical, luckily. Bella was feeding on a deer when she caught the smell. It was the same scent the rest of the Cullens had been picking up in the past couple of weeks. She also felt as strange presence far away. But there was no form she could sense when she tried to locate it. Bella left the blood-ridden carcass behind for the scavengers, and moved at a human-pace through the shadows. Human-pace not because she was afraid it would be a human, but because she didn't know what lurked behind the shadows. As she walked into a small clearing where a few small trees and boulders were, Bella smelled a very strong and recent scent. She turned left, right, and backwards until she circled herself like a dog, but no one was there but her. "Who's there?" Bella asked defiantly.

Annabel scoffed silently. She loved this power. It was more fun watching humans panic while she held a conversation with them, unseen, but this was also enjoyable. She picked a piece of bark off of a tree and dropped it near the vampire's head. Bella's defiant attitude was apparent and Annabel was taken aback by that. So she thinks she's the queen of the world? Hah.
Annabel had planned on messing with the vampire a little more, but her gaze drifted up to the sky. The clouds were clearing and the sun started to shine to her hiding spot. Thinking quickly, Annabel leaped to the floor of the meadow... into direct sunlight. Only to appear right before Bella's eyes. A dramatic entrance, yes, but it was not what she had intended.
Anna crinkled her nose--the epitome of disgust. Was she just drinking animal blood? She could smell the deer's blood on her breath. Anna cringed. "I believe you can find more humans in Port Angeles, if you're THAT desperate" she stated. It was the friendliest statment she could muster. She wished to say, 'Excuse me? Maybe you're just an ignorant newborn, but I'm Annabel Dakota... and you don't disturb me', but she wasn't in the mood to start a conflict at the moment.
